Rome, May 29, 2024 – Carlotta Fontana, Board Member of Villa d’Este (founding member of IATH Academy), shared the IATH experience at ALTAGAMMA Day 2024.
In the presence of the Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, ALTAGAMMA Day 2024 highlighted the importance of education and innovation in the high-end supply chains of the Automotive, Food, Hospitality, Fashion, and Design sectors. A particular focus was placed on the need for 276,000 new talents by 2028, a figure that emerged from the collaboration between the Altagamma Foundation and Unioncamere.
Carlotta Fontana, Board Member of Villa d’Este, emphasized the importance of training new talents in the hospitality sector, highlighting the strong synergy with businesses through the IATH Academy experience. The initiative aims not only to bridge the gap between supply and demand for qualified profiles but also to promote Italian excellence in the world of hospitality.
“In Italy, there are 140 ITS (Technical Institutes), only 15 in the field of tourism. We started with 2 classes ten years ago, and in October 2024, we are ready to welcome more than 300 students. The project has three different courses, one entirely in English (a unique case in Italy).”
The presentation of IATH is part of a broader context of educational initiatives promoted by Altagamma brands: these joint efforts aim to create a virtuous ecosystem where manufacturing and service work become attractive to young Italians, countering the current youth unemployment rate, which stands at around 20% today.
